WELCOME TO BORROW

I started Borrow back in 2012 in the back of my husband's business' garage. I started with the belief that people need local art and design in their lives! And that can start with modern, made + antique furniture in their events and homes. Every person is an artist and when your environment reflects your personal self or story, it is an unshakeable feeling. With my BA from Miami University in Creative Writing and a childhood history in the theatre, art and writing; events and design have been in my blood from a very early age. I truly love what I do and the people I do it for. When you can't find me doing something Borrow you'll find me at home with the people I love. xoxox Ryan, Pete + Clara. ++ my beloved family and friends. Now scroll below to meet the team!

Ann King — Owner, wife, mother and lover of all people and things of Borrow.

Rachael Genco: Product + Logistics Manager

Working in education for the past 8 years, I made the transition to embrace my love of organization at Borrow as the Logistics + Product Manager. Taking what I learned in the classroom, to ensure Borrow deliveries are on time and where they need to be, as well as logistics in house. I grew up in the Cleveland area and attended Miami University graduating with a major in Middle Childhood Education. I enjoy a good plan, schedule and to-do list, but also all things vintage. I love thinking of the story each piece tells from where it’s been to where it’s going. When I’m not at Borrow, you can find me reading and drinking coffee on my front porch in Lakewood, exploring Cleveland’s newest brewery with my husband, PJ, or planning my next trip!

Cheers!

Rachael

Vivian Small: Team + Development Manager

Transitioning comfortably into my new role as the Team + Development Manager, I truly enjoy supporting folks as they become the very best version of themselves. Both my undergraduate and graduate degrees are from Ohio University where I studied media, archives, and operations management. The best part about working at Borrow is watching an event truly come to fruition.

When not working, you can find me watching movies, checking out exhibits, dreaming about travel,  and spending time with my pup Rosa.

Aleah Martin: Styling + Marketing Manager

My name is Aleah Martin. I am the style and marketing manager here at Borrow Curated. I studied at Bowling Green State University and received my BA in Tourism, Hospitality, and Event Management. I have a passion for all things events, from design to timeline. I love every step of the planning process.

When I am not at Borrow, I can be found at a local coffee shop with my nose in a good book or taking my sweet Bernie Doodle Oakley for a walk! I always want to explore new parts of our artistic industrial city, especially through food!

I strongly believe a creative life is an amplified life, so let’s get creating on your next event!

Cheers!
Aleah

BOH Lead team

Meet the Borrow Back Of House Leaders!  They are our leaders onsite, installers, drivers, makers, carpenters, upholsterers, and painters. What’s interesting about these dynamic folks is for six months out of the year they focus on making furniture and decor in our Borrow Builds department. For the other six months of the year, they become event specialists, installers, and drivers. We do setups all over the Midwest and participate in some of the largest, most innovative, and most interesting events in the most insane venues.  None of that would be possible without our BOH leaders!
Our values: Love your history. Support Local. We believe in supporting each other, our clients, local business, artists, innovators and underdogs. Hard and smart work in a positive and creative environment equals success. Kindness wins always. Practicing good systems equates to less stress and freedom.
