Here at Borrow, we’re beyond proud of our dining chair options available for rent and retail! From our wooden folding chairs to the original Bentwood Chair, each time we have unveiled a new chair option we have been the first in our market to bring that chair design to rental and have had a heavy hand in its design (or re-design if converting an antique chair design to a modern rental chair option.) What goes into the thought Process:
1. Is it too trendy?
Chair options for rental companies are some of the most expensive investments. At times it can take years before you recoup the cost of the total investment. This is why it is so important to invest in a chair that can last the test of time. Will this chair still feel relevant in 10 years? Or will you be looking back at this like we look back at Chevron fabrics? Not sure how to decide if something is a classic design and not too trendy: How many times has this style been repeated throughout history? The more repeats that exist the more classic the design.
2. Does anyone else in our market carry the chair?
With the size of the investment, many times a sub-rental makes more sense than a purchase. Plus sub-rentals create camaraderie and wonderful partnerships with other vendors. Finally, we're not here to copy the guys down the street. We are here to bring you the latest and most innovative product we can!
3. What different event design styles could this chair work with?
Can the design flex between Art Deco to Backyard Preppy? The more yeses the better.
4. Are the logistics and wear and tear favorable?
How will we move the chair? Can we fill a truck with its volume? Will the chair need accessive care to keep looking fabulous? This question MAKES and BREAKS many of the decisions. Unfortunately, if the answer is even a questionable yes- it will throw the chair option into NO GO territory.
5. Do I love it? Does the team love it?
